INSTALLING THE APPLICATION
In order to ensure the best possible playback, it is
recommended that you copy the "Cyber Peep" application to your
hard drive. If you don't have room, the application will play from the
CD-ROM, but a little slower. After copying the application to your
hard drive, you should adjust the preferred memory size to get
optimum playback. To do this, while in the FINDER, go to GET INFO
under the FILE menu (command-I). Change the memory allotment in
Preferred Size to be as high as your system can handle. To determine
what that is, go to ABOUT THIS MACINTOSH under the APPLE menu
to check your available RAM.
RECOMMENDATIONS TO ENSURE PROPER PLAYBACK
1. Turn off all screen savers.
2. Turn off all unnecessary inits.
3. In the MONITORS control panel, set your screen to THOUSANDS of
colors or 256 colors if you can't display THOUSANDS.
INSTALLING QUICKTIME
If you do not currently have QuickTime installed on your machine,
you must install and then reboot before using this application. To do
this copy the QuickTime init included (in the PUT CONTENTS IN
SYSTEM FOLDER, folder) to the extensions folder of your System
Folder. The simple method for doing this is to drag and drop the
QuickTime init over the icon of your current System Folder. Your
computer will ask if you want to copy QuickTime into the Extensions
folder. Click YES and remember to restart your machine after the
copy is completed.
WHAT TO DO IF PLAYBACK IS POOR
1. In the event that your machine cannot play the application
adequately, the QuickTime movies (those with the .MOV extension)
can be played directly using the MoviePlayer application provided.
2. In the MEMORY control panel, turn off Virtual Memory.
3. Check to make sure that you have the most recent driver for your
CD-ROM, these are upgraded frequently and can usually be
downloaded from the manufacturer's BBS.
4. If you are running in THOUSANDS of colors, try running in 256
colors.
